Note: We suggest certain eras, because we are not searching for contemporary experiences. We are a history oriented group. We encourage the feel of another time, and how well the author can relate another time and its characters to today’s readers.
Please, no pornography, although some eroticism, in good taste, has a great story and is canvassed against unique historical settings with strong characters may be submitted.
Because of the controversial nature of memoirs, we do not accept memoirs, unless they are set in the past, prior to 1939 and are admittedly fictionalized works.
We are not accepting children’s, teenage, technical, religious, gay, coffee table, horror, political movements, cookbooks, New Age, fantasy, or sci-fi (time travel to the past might work.). No mystery, crime stoppers, serial killers (unless they are set prior to 1900).
There is never a fee for screening submitted material or for manuscripts accepted for publication.
The authors of an accepted manuscript have access to Bowker ISBN 10s & 13s; Bar Codes; and the Library of Congress copyright, unless they have them.
Unsolicited query letters and samples of manuscript (first 2-chapters) are welcome from authors.
Unsolicited manuscripts will not be read or returned unless there is present a return self-address stamped envelope. After 90-days, an unsolicited manuscript will be destroyed.

Submission Guidelines
Adult fiction manuscript length should be in the 110,000-160,000 word range. 4. Do not send illustrations with submission, unless requested.
We look for quick reading, tight writing without rambling and prefer first novelists to limit their characters and subplots.

LLanos Publishing is closed for the summer months (JUNE 15 to SEPTEMBER 21).
E-mails are accepted, but usually not read. After October 1, they'll be answered.

Cyberspace can be tricky. Maintain a personal archive of all works.
We use USPS, FAX, or private carriers for partial manuscript transfers.
DO NOT SEND ORIGINALS!
DO NOT SEND A COMPLETE MANUSCRIPT, UNLESS REQUESTED!
Send us:
A query letter with at most a 2-page synopsis; and the first (20) pages and last (5) pages of your manuscript. NO COMPLETED MANUSCRIPTS, UNLESS REQUESTED!
Electronic submission must be in Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF.
We do not provide editing services to authors. If you think your creation is suitable for publication, has been copy edited by someone, and read by others in for example, a credible writing group, and we judge the work suitable for our good name. If not, we will guide you and make general suggestions.
We do not check for basic grammar, punctuation and syntax editing; nor do we edit for content, consistency, logical presentation, and style. All material must be edited before submission. All illustrations must be author owned and adhere to the Copyrights of the United States. An archival history of images will be requisted.
If we find serious flaws in the manuscript, the material will be rejected. Reasons for rejection are generally never made. Time limits our reasons...

Los Llanos...
Los Llanos is an accumulation of clay, sand, and mud deposited by rivers over millions of years. Most of the terrain is covered with grass, with tiny forests along the nameless creeks and tiny rivers. In them, islands of trees support an impressive variety of wildlife. Rivers swell, in the wet season; the main one is the
The climate of Los Llanos follows a pattern of extremes in both the rainy and dry season. The former (referred to as invierno) lasts from April to November, and has frequent and intense rains. The annual rainfall can reach 20 feet. June is usually the wettest month. At this time, the rivers overflow, turning much of the land into shallow lagoons. In December, the rains stop and the rivers return to their normal courses, steadily getting thinner as the dry season (called verano) progresses. By March, the sun bakes the parched land, and winds blow dust all around.
Although Los Llanos are low lying lands, the average temperature is 75°F, because cold fronts pass through during the rainy months, and there is often a drop to 60°F at night. In the dry season (December to April), by contrast, daytime temperatures can reach 104°F.
Several chapters are devoted to the region in Al Osorio’s soon to be released novel:
The Journalist of the Magdalena.

What others say about working with e-book publishers like Llanos Publishing
“I found myself in control of my project…like when I was writing! The search for a publisher had been a painful almost dehumanizing process that nearly robbed my spirit. Thank you!”
—Sterling Hughes
“I had been searching for a publisher for years. With a published title, I can go on to bigger dreams!”
—Esther Glover
“I think I could have found a publisher…maybe in ten years. You made it happen faster!”
—Freda Olivas
“My first book writing experience came out better than okay! I was proud of it! My next project will be more profitable as my list of published books increases.”
—L. P.
“Perhaps some of those celebrity authors can claim a wall filled with their rejections, but in my genre, the number of publishers are so few, they would cover only my wall clock. One or two rejections from these and my dream seemed over. E-books opened up a door for my little patch of creation to get out. A low-cost POD e-book was what I needed!”
—F. A.
